Why guests pay at the counter, not in the app

Most QR-ordering tools try to become a payment company. Hidangi deliberately does not.

Ordering and paying are different problems

Taking an order is a software problem: show the menu, capture the choices, send them to the kitchen. Paying is a trust-and-compliance problem full of fees, chargebacks, and regulation. Bolting the second onto the first makes the whole thing slower to set up and riskier to run.

So Hidangi does the first well and leaves the second alone. A guest scans the table QR, orders from a normal web page, and pays at the counter after they eat — exactly as they do today.
